WEEKLY REVIEW 6/14 - 6/18

We finished up our overview of the elements of the periodic table this week. Yaaayyyy! Lol. I also changed the way Little Girl will use our dictation book. I am having her copy it (on the computer) the first day, and I dictate the same passage the second day. I am also letting her use spell check as she does it.

Big Girl has worked a lot on her model horses, customizing them, this week. She also took some photos, which she enters in contests. This is just one of the many reasons I love homeschooling. Children have time to develop their own interests and hobbies.

WEEKLY REVIEW 6/7 - 6/11

Big Girl finished up her American Literature this week, as far as we are going with it. The more modern stuff can wait till she is an adult, if ever. Most of it is just junk. We will be starting with British Literature week after next. There is a lot more good literature there, as Britain is obviously a lot older than America. :-)

WEEKLY REVIEW 5/31 - 6/4

We took last month off to do spring cleaning, and because we had out of town company. Back into our routine this week.

I dropped Little Girl's CLE reading. I was going to go ahead and finish it, but I realized it was just a waste of time. We did not even like the stories in the 5th level book. Too much of their religion thrown in to suit us. And the workbooks had tons of it as well. Just not what we want. Instead, she will just read good books, and perhaps some other literature books we have here by BJU or Abeka.

We tried doing our fine arts and geography differently this week, but none of us liked it much, so we are going to go back to the way we were doing it. We had been doing a bit of each daily. This week, we tried doing only one thing for longer each day. I think we like the little bite-size chunks much better. Just like our books we read. We all like to have several going at once, and read a bit of each per day, rather than read a lot of one each day until it is finished. Attention problems, maybe. :-)
